Activities to promote tourism
Besides, the whole sector joined actively in promoting tourism events such as: Trade Fair and International Food Festival – Hue 2016; Tourism Stimulus Program of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, National Tourism Year in Phu Quoc, Kien Giang 2016; Tourism coordination and development Conference in Hau Giang Province ( in Program published in National Tourism Year – Mekong Delta), Vietnam International Travel Mart – VITM Hanoi; Launching Famtrip program; Inviting travel agencies from all over country and the central and local media organizations to Ninh Binh for researching, constructing and surveying new tourism products offered to tourists. Especially, in the first months of 2016, the Hollywood blockbuster “Kong: Skull Island” was recorded in Ninh Binh. The widespread impact of the film attracted many visitors to Ninh Binh and admired the beautiful nature of the acient capital.
Ninh Binh welcomed nearly 4.5 million visitors in the first 6 months of 2016
Estimated to the beginning of the sixth month of 2016, Ninh Binh welcomed nearly 4.5 million tourists, of which the most notable was the strong growth of international visitors (24.3%) with more than 374 thousand passengers; the number of overnight stays reached nearly 340 thousand days, increased of 21.5%; total revenue from tourists in first 6 months of 2016 reached 1,114 billion VND, increased by 16% over the same period 2015. These remarkable figures confirmed that Ninh Binh has been an attractive destination for domestic and international travelers.
